Can someone in MI explain why MLive working so hard to find MI's best pizza? Do we think it'll be as good as NY? Or even (gasp!) deep dish?
Oh, I'm not suggesting that. I'm suggesting very little pizza in MI is as good as deep dishes attempt to be pizza.

It's all just an excuse for
@MichiganGonzo to go around and eat as much pizza as he can. -
But isn't it more relevant to discover MI's best pasty?

Oh yee of little faith. Trust in Gonzo. http://www.mlive.com/dining/index.ssf/2016/08/yooper_troopers_12_pasties_you.html#0 …

(also, it's Harmony Brewing)

See my local favorite is Terra, which is great. But not pizza pizza.
@Kyle_Feldscher@DanaHoule@MichiganGonzo -
finding great pizza pizza here is a real challenge, I agree
-
Little Caesars wrapped bacon around a pizza, search over.
-
Here's the other problem w/MI pizza search. Too many shitty chains are HQed here.

Pizza is on an east-west continuum. Best on the east coast, better in MI than IL, IL resembles pizza, St Louis is absurd
-
Except in CA it's also on a North-South continuum. I never once ate acceptable pizza in SoCal (and blame them for pineapple biz)
-
Whereas San Francisco has superb pizza because San Francisco has superb everything that has to do with food, I think.
-
Also, it has Italians.

It took us 5 years before we finally found good pizza that delivers to us. Chicago pizza is like something from a dystopia
