OK. I'm talking abt Russian fear industry of late. Ultimately that's over playing Putin strength. Serves its own political purpose

-
-
Again, I think that there's a specifically neocon form of admiration for Putin that we're not getting at.
-
I believe the Neocons are best understood as utilitarian postmodernists. So I don't credit their admiration to be good faith.
-
They don't offer it in good faith, but it's a strong undercurrent to their commentary on Russia issues.
-
Sure. But my point is that it is not good faith. Trump's is. Neocons' is not, IMO.
-
Trump and the neocons are impressed by different things, and they vocalize differently.

Sure, but I have real concern that "liberal hawks" are increasingly returning to Scoop Jackson roots.
-
I disagree.
-
I hope you're right. I also hope they can withstand the wiles of the Neocons they've leapt happily into bed with.
-
And I disagree about the "leapt happily into bed" bit. But a conversation for another day.
