Such an odd way for the Obama administration to view a conflict it is literally involved in. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/yemen-obama-middle-east-227309 …pic.twitter.com/mwLPQgan5F
Abundant tweets about civil liberties & national security. "Has a longer memory than an elephant & keeps more records than Jim Comey.” Legendary potty mouth.

"If the UN can't solve this war where we're providing direct military support to one side, well, then we might have to step in."
Did the Obama administration really think a UN peace process for #Yemen based on adherence to resolution 2216 would work?
UNSC Resolution 2216 required the Houthis and their allies to leave everywhere, including Sanaa. That's still the basis for peace talks.
The Yemen intervention also follows a long history of the US believing local forces on the ground would do far more than they did.
Lots of Yemenis had many reasons to fight/dislike the Houthis, but not as many had a reason to fight on the ground *for* a Saudi coalition.
I honestly wonder what the US thought would happen when it signed onto military intervention in Yemen last year. What was US intelligence?
Presumably whatever the Saudis made sure it was?
Just suggesting there's abundant reason to believe the intel we get from KSA is not untainted from their interests.
