With every new trade agreement, the "loss of sovereignty" argument is made. But sovereignty isn't lost. 1/*

Rather, each agreement binds the US to do X. But if the US doesn't do X, no one can make us. 2/*
-
Instead, a trade agreement says, "If you don't do X, here's your penalty." IMO, penalties =/= loss of sovereignty.

You're right. congress is using Fast Track to give POTUS right to implement secret treaty that dissolves our own laws
@ErrataRob -
I don't like fast track. Well, I didn't. Now it's kinda too late. 1/*
-
And I say that as the guy who long ago wrote the first resolution to repeal fast track. (by changing the Sen Rules)
-
On a roll-call vote it lost horribly.
-
All that said, the secret "side agreements" (kept from Congress) are BS. Smth needs to be done abt those.
