I think there's inclination to say we're in time of clusterfuck, but to degree that's true the protests/terror/violence aren't it.

They're part of it. They are inescapably part of it, and they're inflecting larger politics in a lot of slow, subtle ways.

Yup. But not as big a part as in '68. Other things are bigger here, IMO. (Partly US bias ignores 2008 hangover, refugees)

I think it depends who you are and where you are. In the checked I run in, they're definitional.
