FBI knew "that he hoped to martyr himself" http://time.com/4368439/orlando-shooting-omar-mateen-fbi-investigation-dropped/ …

If the FBI started removing rights from every person who said, "I could kill myself" that'd be a lot of people.

FBI had a six month window with what is currently allowed. http://time.com/4368439/orlando-shooting-omar-mateen-fbi-investigation-dropped/ …

False again. They used 10 months, not including the third interview.

False again? The previous quote was also directly from the Time story.

Misquoted, as I just pointed out. Mateen was investigated from July 2013 to May 2014, then pursued again later in 2014.

FBI has 6 months and could get a 6 month extension; already have up to 12 months. But, with no background checks, no connection.

So, someone's name is already on a "list" for up to 12 months but there is currently no background check triggering action.

And "lists" don't work like that (nor would they under part of Collins). The records will be in FBI files for 30 years.

If they prosecute, they would have to justify what they did to a judge. 12 months is the current limit.

Again, there is no "List" in the way you're thinking. There are case files, and Mateen's would have been available until 2044.

Document management systems allow searches. If there are case files, there is already a "list".

Right. You see how much you've exploded the "list" for people whose neighbors said they looked like terrorists?

I didn't create the "list". It already exists and each item can live on that list for up to 12 months.

Incorrect, again. Preliminary investigation results on NatSec cases are kept for 30 years.

It is not unrelated. Data retention is separate.

Yes. There are 2 things. 1) OPEN INVESTIGATION (not a list) 2) Data retention for NatSec cases of 30 years (not a list)
