Rearranged my apartment to fit one more bookshelf! Now I can get back to stacking them horizontally and not vertically.
Then when I was going to Russia and wanted to read Dostoevsky, couldn't find my Russian collection, at all. Like 30 books.

30 Russian books are like 60 regular books in terms of size, too
-
As are 19th C French serial novels, too. As are many theory books. I made a bad choice. Should have been physicist.
-
these are all compelling arguments for fewer books, but how am I supposed to have a dating life w/o 100s of books to show off?
-
It has been so long since I dated I'm not sure I'm the best one to give you advice on that front.
-
I'm pretty sure "own a lot of books" is eternally good advice. (I hope).
-
Sure. But I just don't know what that means anymore. Does Kindle count? Where's the visceral joy in Kindle?
-
My childhood dream was to live in a library, so Kindle doesn't do it for me. Books as sanctuary vs. books as information, maybe?
