Am I really only skeptic of Kagan fascism piece? Man has facilitated expanding Deep State. If Trump gets too much power, he's at fault.
-
-
That's not to say Trump wouldn't be disaster. But DC insiders really want to pretend their own ideology and policy failures had no role.
-
Kagan has spent years spreading "Democracy™" overseas w/o noticing what his effort has done to democracy at home.
-
If it is wrong for Trump to have unlimited POTUS power, then it is wrong for Bush and Obama to have that power too.
-
Silly Marcy. 1st rule of Deep State is only Deep Staters can play.
-
Right. That's one detail Kagan missed. Cheney had a far better mastery of using Deep State to advantage than Trump will have.
-
What's your Obama opinion? Used or used by? (Mostly, I mean...)
-
A mix. He loves the idea of the Deep State and has found a way to think he's micro-managing it, but that's partly illusory
-
I suppose that applies to every POTUS. Or the state wouldn't be deep.....

trump can use vast existing USG powers to become dictator if he wants really
-
Sure. But Kagan never had a problem w/Unitary Executive when Cheney wielded the power.
-
that was one of the orginal danger of previous acts starting with patriot act that somebody like trump was eventually coming
-
False. PATRIOT was dangerous unto itself.
-
I agree but part of why the establishment supports it they never expect it to be turned on them like watergate the last time
