@emptywheel if it's not clear, I understand where both come from, and I think both are about equally stupid, if I'm being honest -
@emptywheel they're both symbolically accurate and literally inaccurate, and exist to connote positive feelings among their target audiences -
@emptywheel both feel a bit Orwellian to me, in the Newspeak sense. The original meanings stripped; they now exist as tribal dogwhistles -
