.@emptywheel 1) Have been wondering what language Turkey used to warn Russian SU-24 planes. The choices are:

.@emptywheel 3) English is std for civilian air traffic, but don't think so for military air traffic in war zone.

@LemonSlayerUS Was Russia warned not to breach airspace or not to attack Turkmen rebels?

.@emptywheel Excellent question! Also, did Turkey shoot down Russian SU-24 before or after its bombing run on said Turkmen rebels?

@LemonSlayerUS THe radar shows a pass through, a circle around, then another pass through. So maybe that circle around was a bombing run?

.@emptywheel Same thoughts here. Would give Turkey enough time to hear complaints from Turkmen rebels about getting bombed.

.@empiricalerror @emptywheel So SU-24 shootdown may have indeed been premeditated by Turkey for the Russian bombing of Turkmen rebels.

@LemonSlayerUS Hard to believe it's not. 17 secs isn't lot of time to chase down Russian plane if you're not planning ahead @empiricalerror

@emptywheel To be fair, planes' trajectory was clear so they had a lot more time than 17 secs. @LemonSlayerUS
