I don't get why anyone believes the NSA will only search phone records per FISC orders when DEA had a program they ran with AT&T for years

@emptywheel right. so why do people think NSA is gonna have to go to a "court" to get permission to do this? this is dumb thinking. -
@onekade Also, NSA has (presumably all) US-international calls which it doesn't need NSA permission for. People always forget 215=fraction. -
@emptywheel also, NSA violates the law whenever it feels like it anyway, and AT&T has no fear of civil litigation so. bad combo. -
@onekade To be fair, FBI is more likely to violate rules, and DEA still more so. And they have other ways of getting this. -
