Anyone besides me find it odd the RentBoy case has been continued 2X (now until 11/23)? http://ia601508.us.archive.org/4/items/gov.uscourts.nyed.374262/gov.uscourts.nyed.374262.docket.html … Still no indictment.

@emptywheel it's common practice for prosecution lawyers in cases where their case isn't 100 percent. -
@BryanKnight66 yeah, but often after they've indicted. They haven't done that yet. Where's the GJ? -
@BryanKnight66 Grand jury. What you say is absolutely true: but usu after they've indicted. -
@emptywheel again, it's SUPPOSED to be after indictment. -
@BryanKnight66 Right. But isn't here. I think they may be fucked--otherwise I'd expect defense to begin squawking. -
@emptywheel it's an unpopular group. Outsiders will condemn them immediately without thought. Aggressive Due process is their best bet now

@emptywheel it's also a delay tactic to either grab more evidence or prepare statements -
@BryanKnight66 But at some point defense has to stop playing along. Again, no indictment. That's the delay I'm most interested in. -
@emptywheel the defense is at the mercy of the judge, who is being pressured by BAR members with an ammicus brief to push it out of court
