When people watched the MSU-UM games w/black and white TVs was it harder to tell which team was which? Were "M's" the same even then?
@JayAckroyd Admittedly I asked that when looking at Dantonio and Harbaugh but I always did think it odd they had same M's.

@emptywheel In your collegiate play, wouldn't refs refer by white/purple rather than Amherst/Williams? -
@JayAckroyd Hmmm. Refs. Trying to forget my ultimate career where there were none. -
@emptywheel Wasn't thinking of ultimate--honor rules. But the font similarity is a little odd. Serif seems manly and Big Tenish. -
@JayAckroyd They have refs now at nationals. Er, um, observers. -
@emptywheel Do they waggle a shaming finger? -
@JayAckroyd What?! In ultimate? No no no. All the waggle comes w/a disc in hand. -
@emptywheel "Observers" grab disc? -
@JayAckroyd No. And therefore they never waggle. - 1 more reply
