But the whole "it took 30 minutes to stop the bombing after they called" is less a sign of ambivalence by US forces than it is bureaucracy.

It's not like the MSF folks were calling the pilot direct and he/she just shrugged them off and went "fuck it, I'm gonna keep dropping."

At BEST, MSF called a US military liaison who had to track down someone who could figure out the bombing situation and order it stopped.

It's highly likely that there were several more steps in the chain. Not like MSF is calling the operations center controlling that aircraft.

That said, the MSF facility should have been in a "safe box" so as not to be shelled or bombed, and somewhere that process broke down.

It's a mitigation tool that is used for a reason and someone should probably be held accountable for the lives that were lost.

But those lives were almost certainly lost through negligence, not malice or calousness when it was revealed to be an MSF facility.
