When I was little, my white mom told me white guilt was self-indulgent. Instead, I learned about white responsibility. I love my mom.

@emptywheel She taught me to show up (where I am asked to) and speak up (when my voice is the appropriate one) and to listen. A lot. -
@emptywheel And to clarify, I show up unasked when that's appropriate too, but it isn't always.
