Abundant tweets about civil liberties & national security. "Has a longer memory than an elephant & keeps more records than Jim Comey.” Legendary potty mouth.

@emptywheel You have a sec? I'm trying to confirm: officially, Sec. 215 does not allow the bulk collection of domestic IP addresses, right?

@apblake In what context? What would the request look like?

@emptywheel On the floor earlier, Sen. Burr said "Sec 215 allows the NSA to collect in bulk telephone numbers and IP addresses."

@apblake That said, we know nothing abt Internet collection under Section 215 (ex FISC minimized it for years), so they may have other way.

@apblake That said, there's reason to believe govt will get PRISM like access to Internet companies (prolly using same infrastructure)

@emptywheel @apblake Remember Silicon Valley companies != telecommunications providers for purposes of NSA-access analysis. Very different.

@declanm In what sense? USA F-ReDux prevents bulk for ECP or remote computing companies. @apblake

@declanm Are you saying that wrt USA F-ReDux or Section 215. As I've reported Internet collex MOVED to 215 in 2009. @apblake

@emptywheel @apblake I'm responding to your "govt will get PRISM like access to Internet companies" claim. I didn't see your 215/2009 report
