Woman behind me on ride home this evening was wearing a baby. In an Ergo. On a bike. Resisted urge to momsplain how crazy dangerous that is.
@RachelBLevinson You might need to momsplain to we barren ones (joking) what an Ergo is...

@emptywheel Sorry! Do you know what a Baby Bjorn is? Same idea. Soft baby carrier so you can wear your baby, like in a front backpack. -
@RachelBLevinson I guessed. Just wanted to point out that it's a somewhat limited cultural reference. -
@emptywheel@RachelBLevinson Why is that more dangerous than a child seat? -
@CathyGellis@emptywheel A child seat has hard sides, and the child is wearing a helmet. Still not great to fall, but way safer. -
@RachelBLevinson We presume Baby trailers (which are only safe for older children, right) are safer?@CathyGellis cc@B_Amer -
@emptywheel@CathyGellis@B_Amer Y'know, I've wondered about kid trailers. I'm not really sure. But they are for older kids, so that helps. -
@RachelBLevinson Also might be less safe in busy traffic like DC, which is why I cc'ed@B_Amer cause I know he used one.@CathyGellis

@emptywheel And then when you slip on wet gravel, you're basically fine because you're wearing a helmet, and your baby is SO not fine.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
