@emptywheel Tebow affecting me already with a false start. -
@ddayen But did you sell some jerseys at least? -
@emptywheel@ddayen Attention: Tebow has one more NFL playoff games in the last seven years than both your teams combined. -
-
@emptywheel@ddayen No silly! Lions and Eagles. This is about you and the Dayden brother. -
-
@emptywheel@ddayen No no, again, about your and David's primary team. You OWN the Kittehs. -

@emptywheel@ddayen I doubt Vietnam has the infrastructure or port capacity to absorb much Chinese trade; Beijing has 19-1 advantage. -
@drfarls@emptywheel They currently absorb almost all their raw materials for apparel (88%) from China and South Korea. -
@ddayen@emptywheel Right, but that doesn't indicate that they're capable of processing a vast increase in Chinese exports. -
@drfarls@emptywheel China's pretty good at infrastructure, right? I think another concern is they'd site factories in VN to take advantage -
@ddayen@emptywheel I suppose it's possible that China could expand Vietnamese port capacity by a factor of 20, but that defeats purpose. -
@drfarls@emptywheel it depends on the tariff benefit, no? China hasn't been exactly shy building capacity in other countries AFAIK -
@ddayen@emptywheel You must be kidding if you think that tariff advantage will be sufficient for China to expand Saigon 7x. -
@drfarls@emptywheel There's an all-or-nothing quality to this that doesn't have to match the strategy. (1/2)
