Added the slide about GCHQ having access to PRISM data during the 2012 Olympic Games in London: http://electrospaces.blogspot.com/2014/04/what-is-known-about-nsas-prism-program.html#reporting …
@electrospaces Pretty sure we've got abundant evidence they're monitoring agents of foreign power as broadly defined.

@emptywheel well yes, but that's also possible under EO 12333 -
@electrospaces Yes, but slides, at least, claim it involves 702. But that may be telecom (AT&T/Verizon) assistance out of US. -
@emptywheel But isn't the difference between FISA and FAA that latter is just more efficient? (annual list vs individual approval) -
@electrospaces Right. But Q still why they'd need it if US telecoms assisted out of country, right? -
@emptywheel hm couldn't it be because PRISM collection (agents using Gmail etc) is only possible under FAA? -
@electrospaces Unless you're stealing it overseas, you mean? But one wouldn't need BOTH a CT cert and a FG one, right? -
@emptywheel Not all PRISM providers are also tapped overseas ;-) Hm depends on the justification for a particular search I think -
@electrospaces Right. Clearly FG taps are legal under FAA, but not included under known certs. Not sure why, but may be special needs anal.
