@csoghoian I agree we shouldn't wait for DC to protect us, but I also agree with @CathyGellis that orgs like ABA & (@APA!) should speak up.
@PogoWasRight Sure @APA should speak up. But how come they only DID after corporate, not defense, firm affected? @csoghoian @CathyGellis

@emptywheel You mean ABA? I do know at least one push within org to speak on this issue began before that news hit@PogoWasRight@csoghoian -
@CathyGellis Yeah, meant ABA. Just think they need to represent concerns of ALL lawyers, b4 they chip at priv w/CT@PogoWasRight@csoghoian -
@emptywheel@PogoWasRight@csoghoian The politics are such that sometimes non-crim defense bar needs to be outraged before anything is done. -
@CathyGellis I get that. But why not at least mention Medunjanin-Gottlieb along w/Meyer Brown?@PogoWasRight@csoghoian

@emptywheel@APA hasn't spoken up at all, AFAIK. Psych associations generally abysmal on issue of surveillance & patient confidentiality. -
@PogoWasRight Screwed up. Meant ABA. -
@emptywheel OK. As mental health professional, I'm disappointed in psych associations' passivity, & glad@PatientPrivacy joined@EFF lawsuit
