@emptywheel @henryfarrell I have no clue what the NSA did. My argument is NYT story doesn't know either, so it's basically a Rorschach test.
@Swopa Your entire premise wrt Indo is NSA & its partners were not doing their job. That may be true. But there's no reason to think that.

@emptywheel I get that you "know" all this. My point is that NYT article is only a scoop to those who agree -- i.e., preaching to choir -
@Swopa Funny. I'm running into a TON of people who are appalled that USG spies on lawyers. It's NOT a scoop to those of us who know that. -
@emptywheel Well, people accepting innuendo as fact (as happened with Clinton/WW & Miller/MWD) is a separate issue, & positive in this case -
@Swopa But go ahead, and insist that people are not doing their job with no evidence all while complaining abt innuendo. -
@emptywheel LOL. "Doing their job," per your def. depends on multiple layers of bureaucratic infallibility by the folks who hired Snowden -
@Swopa In other words, the only way lawyers not spied on is if OGC made shit up in a way that would mean NSA didn't do job. That's your case -
@emptywheel This gets back to "preaching to choir" - NSA's "job" & OGC "making shit up" is based on your sense of things, not NYT article... -
@Swopa Anyway, go ahead and keep accusing NSA people you don't know of not doing their job. It's been nice chatting. - 25 more replies
