@emptywheel What would convincing evidence of Assad responsibility for CW attack look like to you?
@AdamColligan That said, I await what the UN inspectors have to say, whether IC can/will pinpoint who in SSRC they deem responsible.

@emptywheel 1. UN planning on even trying to finger perp? 2. Why does narrowing blame within regime make the case for regime v rebel use? -
@AdamColligan Whoever did the attack, the (surviving) rebels (and sponsors) benefit most. One might ask why Assad person would do them then. -
@emptywheel Same reason everyone does: kill and demoralize opponents. And the rebel factions that hate the guilty one would stay quiet? -
@AdamColligan You're saying Assad would piss away natural advantages AND momentum to kill same#s of people but in way to tilt balance? -
@emptywheel Suddenly we go from knowing nothing about regime status to being so sure that they have/think they have momentum & advantage? -
@AdamColligan It was VERY clear they had momentum. Anyway, I have hours of work to do. Will catch up when I'm done. -
@emptywheel X months ago it was very clear to everybody but Assad that Assad was mere days from an inevitable rendezvous with a meathook.
