[1/2]Humans can query NSA database w/"articulable suspicion"(X degrees of Bacon to suspect). Bet VERY low # of hops btwn most US phone pairs
@AdamColligan Not sure I follow. Plus, remember suspicion is not of YOU, but of person you called.

@emptywheel "My" phone's data queried b/c of network distance to "suspect" phone. Anyone actually said distance has to be 1 (direct call)? -
@emptywheel If allowed distance for query is 3-4 hops from existing target phone, 1 suspect # = maybe millions of users' data can be read -
@AdamColligan Tho I think I've seen a 3 hop limit, fr suspect phone (which of course only has to be associated w/terrorist, not terrorist) -
@emptywheel Many don't realize <4 degrees between ~all FB users; Twitter even closer. Bet phones closer still if DB keeps records forever. -
@emptywheel As DB history grows, more query-able #'s at X distance for any "suspect" #. Same legal standard, asymptotic growth in snooping
