@DaveedGR That's why I put my "scale" caveat. Just seems like even by scale this doesn't compare to other events. @dandrezner
@catfitz But in point of fact taking someone's salary could be considered a taking under the Fifth.

@emptywheel That doesn't mean they shouldn't go on preserving rights. But that we can't be in a moral vacuum and we have to admit cost huge. -
@catfitz We actually don't know the cost. We actually don't know that he WAS extremist in 2011. Plenty of cases where harassment leads to it -
@emptywheel I don't subscribe to the theory that poverty or unhappy childhoods create or justify terrorists or even explain them. -
@catfitz Nor do I. Where you and I differ is I'm not certain of a set of facts for which there is no evidence. -
@emptywheel I'd love another review of this $333 million; we don't know every lost work hour isn't being regained, etc. -
@catfitz The $333M assumes that. W/o assuming it cost would be $1B, which is business of Boston in a day.

@emptywheel I'm all for full employment. I want you to then acknowledge tradeoffs could be dead boat owner, etc. It's always about choices -
@catfitz Yes. And in similar situations not called terror, those trade offs aren't made. Weren't made on 9/11 even. -
@emptywheel as for 9/11, the perpetrators were suicide bombers and they all died. No manhut. But in other cases there have been more tenuous

@21law@emptywheel well, I'm willing to hypothesize taking but the reality is, all hourly workers were suffering already due to 1st bomb
