Somehow Robert Mueller got his term extended w/o ever solving anthrax attacks--in part bc FBI was ONLY looking for a lone wolf.
@JonHenke Sure. But evidence that Ivins was lone wolf always based in whack job that sorority obsession would lead him to office, not house.

@emptywheel Yeah, but again, I'm not saying problems with other theories imply Ivins was guilty. Just that every theory seems hinky. -
@JonHenke I'd be a lot more comfortable if FBI had used more than lone wolf presumption to rule out others. So logically flawed as approach. -
@emptywheel Ok. Not disputing that. Just saying that group presumption also makes relatively little sense. -
@JonHenke I'm not presuming that. I'm saying that presumptions lead to obvious investigative avenues left unexplored.

@emptywheel@jonhenke - Strange that the ricin letter coincided with the Boston attack. Maybe getting Wicker was the real goal. -
@Hesiod2k11@emptywheel That seems….unlikely. -
@JonHenke@emptywheel - The Anthrax terrorist used 9/11 as cover last time. -
@Hesiod2k11@emptywheel Cover for what? What was the purpose of the attack? Random attacks without apparent goal isn't really terrorism. -
@JonHenke FWIW, I thikn ricin, if real, is prolly based in personal animus: it was sent from MS, after all.
