Re-up: Remember, the Question Is “Are YOU Better Off?” Not “Is Your Boss Better Off?” http://bit.ly/OgYqTf
@karinjr I showed accelerating decline of med income. I talked abt people not in workforce. How are MANY people repped by those data better?

@emptywheel than they were when they were out of work entirely? -
@karinjr 1) a lot of people aren't in the workforce. Are they better off? 2) The question is not "are you better than in March 2010." -
@emptywheel No. And some of those people who've left the workforce are in my immediate family. So I'm not belittling the problem. -
@karinjr Okay, multiple your immediate family times millions and do you still say "transparently more Americans better off"? -
@emptywheel So yeah, she's BETTER OFF than she was 4 years ago. But not as well off as she was 5 years ago. Extrapolate by millions? Yes. -
@karinjr And then consider that for millions, they didn't lose their home/job until 2009 or 2010 or 2011. For those, they're worse.

@emptywheel You're right that the loss of middle class wages is a tragedy. But aren't the folks in low paid work at least a bit better off -
@karinjr People in low wage jobs are better off than people in middle class jobs? Really? You want to run on that math?
