Now that Mitt is using his giving to Mormon Church as excuse to hide taxes, should we presume he's hiding Prop 8 $$? http://bit.ly/SsE3WA
@JonHenke Mitt says his tithe is part of his taxes. Therefore it's utterly ridiculous to hide taxes because of his tithe.

@emptywheel I'm unsure what you're saying. That charitable giving shouldn't be deducted, or doesn't count as "giving back" like taxes? -
@JonHenke I'm saying that once you claim tithing is part of your tax burden, you can't claim it's too private to release. -
@emptywheel Discussing your overall rate of giving is not claiming that charitable donations are a tax. -
@JonHenke Well good, then please have him stop doing that, because he has. Taxes are not "giving" they are an obligation he skirts. -
@emptywheel Skirts? Are you suggesting that charitable giving is an illegitimate deduction? -
@JonHenke I realize you will keep insinuating I've said that when I've never said anything like that. But no, I'm not. -
@emptywheel Forgive me if I misunderstood, but "taxes...are an obligation he skirts" sounds like you're saying deduction was illegitimate. -
@JonHenke No. HIs low tax rate has nothing to do with his tithe. His low tax rate has to do with legal and potentially not legal dodges.
