@emptywheel …but sometimes we aren't that important. We didn't start Libyan or Syrian revolutions, their people did.
@earwulf There is some debate abt that, but in any case, if it was so inevitable, don't you think we could have done it legally?

@emptywheel What have we done, really? In Libya we provided some air support, but it was the Libyans on the ground who won their revolution. -
@earwulf Right. And that air support exceeded BOTH what OLC approved, and the UN mandate. -
@emptywheel The fact that our help was requested by the TNC should count for something too.

@emptywheel In Syria, so far, we've done next to nothing. KSA and Qatar have sent some money, but most FSA weapons are from Syrian military. -
@earwulf I see you 1) believe everything you read abt Syria and 2) ignore all the stuff abt CIA involvement in Syra? -
@emptywheel I follow a lot of Syrians on twitter, read reports from journalists who are actually in the country. -
@earwulf As do I. There have been a slew of claims debunked. BOTH sides are engaging in tons of propaganda. -
@emptywheel Quite true, have to take everything with a grain of salt, but I tend to trust ordinary citizens over dictatorial governments
