He's trying to force the issue. Something interesting to note. Only McConnell, Graham, Grassley, and Trump have come to Kavanaugh's aid. Everyone else has been very quiet and there are plenty of people coming forward to discredit him.
-
There's no reason for any other GOPer to speak up. No one is sticking a microphone in their faces. This is a freeby for them.

Point taken.

probably has the votes but in this one case McConnell needs to send nom to floor with or without votes. Can't be pulled. WH won't allow it.
-
He didn’t have the votes for the ACA. He doesn’t have the votes now.
-
I’d bet on he does but I thought that about the ACA repeal and I was wrong. Bet on him being confirmed, though.
-
He truly thought he had the votes on ACA. No doubt he believe he does, now
-
He has the votes. That FBI report, however much a sham it is, gives cover to Flake and Collins and Murkowski and, yeah, even Manchin, to vote to confirm.
-
Manchin is not likely to vote yes imo. He doesn't want to be the lone Dem. That puts pressure on Collins/Murkowski. They should take the max heat for a bad vote.
-
They think they won't pay politically for it at the polls (or they've decided "fuck it, we're gonna burn in flames anyway, let's go for it).

It seems impossible that the FBI did anything remotely approaching a thorough investigation. Still two more days left to contact all the Georgetown & Yale classmates who say he's lying.https://www.newsweek.com/brett-kavanaugh-investigation-i-read-mark-judges-book-wasted-heres-what-fbi-1151447 …

Read the new New Yorker piece by
@JaneMayerNYer &@RonanFarrow — the FBI didn’t even try to interview witnesses who substantiated Ramirez’s story, much less Julie Swetnick, even witnesses who approached the FBI. It was all a sham

I assume this means Susan Collins plans on doing something other than being a Senator after 2020
-
Unless
@SenatorCollins plans on moving to another country, I’d suggest she vote NO. Just because she’s out of the Senate doesn’t mean folks shouldn’t make every day for the rest of her life a living hell, just as Kavanaugh & an illegitimate SCOTUS will do for millions. - 1 more reply
