A lot of the claims of "FISA abuse" are straight-up garbage. But this is a real example of an actual abuse that hasn't yet been properly corrected.

i'm still not clear why his only charge is lying to the feds if he leaked it, but it looks like he did, so i'm at a mental impass.

The govt does that to avoid any graymail defenses, especially with people who've been trusted insiders. Plus, they had better records w/the others, won't have to go after journos (aside from Watkins' emails).
