This is exactly right: the White House has to carefully control scope bc Kavanaugh LIED SO MUCH on Thursday that if FBI pursues obvious leads, Kav will get referred for lying his ass off.https://twitter.com/rroiphe/status/1046154266614923265 …

Yes, but...I got into Yale all on my own.
-
Except his paternal grandfather was a Yale graduate, so Kavanaugh was a legacy applicant. He even lied about that.

I agree, but think how audacious it was to impeach Clinton or stop the 2000 vote count in Florida. He's been an agent for GOP norm-crushing for more than 20 years. Everyone who's not in on this kind of stuff left the party long ago.
-
Its my understanding that he's also into torture. Which for me is the lowest a human can go.

I keep thinking of Trump’s declaration of being able to stand in the middle of 5th Ave and shoot someone and still not lose votes. Kav was able to lie all during the hearing and he will still be confirmed. Senate has become Trump’s base.

This is exhausting. I’m positive I’ve aged 20 years, since New Years.pic.twitter.com/txkWQXDYRB

Accept the improprieties of Bill Clinton we’re consensual, not assault. Kavanaugh has evaded prosecution via statute of limitations but be clear that the offense being lied anout was greater than Clinton’s.
-
There’s no statute of limitations on sex assault in Montgomery County, MD. Both the county police and states attorney are ready to investigate if someone presses charges against BK.

What’s happening here is that K has never integrated who he was at 18 and who he is today. He has long been avoiding his own history even tho it’s there just below the surface. In these circumstances it’s so much harder to ignore. Thus the heavy emotion.

Kinda puts his, ah… let’s say “zeal” during that investigation into a bit of a new light too.

What I don’t understand is why is the Senate NOT enforcing the perjury laws?

It would be interesting to have a similar table but with means for each category according to party

Well, if I was consistent and fair-minded, I would’ve also eventually reached the conclusion at the time that Clinton deserved to be impeached for lying under oath, despite the things that I liked about him. Oh right I did. It’s not me who’s inconsistent. It’s them.
-
For lying under oath and for having sex with an intern. Can't be consensual. Power differential. It would be like me having sex with a student.
-
Dating an adult student, or a subordinate at work, can absolutely be consensual, though sometimes it isn't. Moreover, neither is remotely illegal, though there is possible exposure to (civil) equal employment issues.
-
Not the same as with a minor, I agree. But military officers I knew at the time of the Clinton affair were horrified. Prez is commander-in-chief. Fraternization (relationship between officer and enlisted person) gets you kicked out of the military. Also adultery is against UCMJ
-
Lying under oath is illegal. Sex with an intern may not be illegal but it's wrong.
