Well, for a guy who helped impeach Clinton for lying about a blow job, treating lying abt Devil's Triangle as DQing for a lifetime appointment seems like a no-brainer. It's Kavanaugh's own standard, he should be held to it.https://twitter.com/Jamie_Weinstein/status/1046046924242071552 …

A lie is a lie. If he would lie about a phrase referring to a threesome to make himself look better, he'd definitely lie about much bigger things. He lied about watching Dr. Ford's testimony, even though people saw him watching. His natural instinct is to lie.

All narcissists know how to do is lie

I’m honestly surprised that losing SCOTUS is the only consequence being discussed. Lying under oath several times seems like it can/should lead to removal from the federal circuit or even disbarment.

Lies on "little" stuff devastate his credibility. If he can't be honest about that stuff, if can't even admit yearbook immaturity & show regret and instead lies about it to protect choir boy image he has constructed, how can his answers possibly be trusted on the big questions?

His lies about the meaning of "boofing" are even more ridiculous than his lies about devil's triangle.
-
I've heard multiple explanations for what boofing means, but devil's triangle is something everyone agrees on.

Opening for FBI, ask Kavs friends what these terms meant to them. R’s don’t really care about sexual assault, for a Republocan, they have shown that. But a judge lying under oath is harder to defend.

IMHO the yearbook entries are disqualifying even if he didn't lie about them.

Kavanaugh in his opening statement claimed he was virgin through high school and maybe some years beyond that. That kind of statement, with an yearbook entry about "Devil's Triangle", seems like Kavanaugh is daring for girls he was intimate with to come forward.
-
I suspect those women don't exist. I'm pretty sure he was lying in high school to try to fit in with the crowd he aspired to be part of.
-
Then it seems bizarre that when questioned what does "Devil's Triangle" in his yearbook entry meant, he didn't confessed that it was a false boast to fit in with the crowd. Seems a pretty useless lie to call it "a drinking game" to save his repo from highschool.
-
You may be right, but a lot of accounts depict him as shy and awkward around girls when sober. The lie allows him to maintain the fiction of he and his pals (except for Judge) being rowdy but innocent, church-going lads.

And did the event with Dr Ford check his box for Devil’s Triangle?

July 1, 1982 the legal drinking age raised to 21 years old. July 1, 1982 "Go to Timmy's for skis." Pity party, huge disappointment.

The ugly lie about the "Renate alumni" was so stark! It's obvious the football players were not honoring her--they were sex shaming her.

Unfortunately the GOP position is they don’t care if he lied, if those lies didn’t hurt them.
