I'm older than that. But one thing I keep thinking about is that the managers who were harassing the other girl cashiers moonlighted as cops. They let us buy beer though, so there was that.

That testimony rang true! I was a stock clerk and bag boy myself. The culture you describe is exactly right. I remember it well. Names, faces, situations. It was the late 70s.
