I'm not a believer in 11-dimensional chess and really ALL sides should be focused on Swetnick, not her attorney. But by hiring Avenatti, she might as well have baited the worst kind of dismissive behavior from Republican men.https://twitter.com/LindseyGrahamSC/status/1044997722410037248 …

Ah. Gotcha. You are a bit like me, I think, in that we have complex thought processes within our minds that sometimes do not come across in the words we verbalize or write.
-
(Which, to clarify, lol - because I think I just did it again - is a compliment. I often assume things that are obvious to me are self-evident to others as well. So I sometimes blurt out portions of thought without the context that's in my mind.)
-
Yeah, I see that now, and I appreciate you noting that it might be taken that way. I definitely did not mean it that way.

The only thing these men hate more than a woman who speaks her truth is a man who stands with her. The former is a dangerous nuisance to them, but the latter is a full on betrayal as they see it.

Would you say more on why Avenatti is a smart choice?
-
I think her argument would be that he's getting the GOP men in this situation rankled and coaxing them to act impulsively and irrationally. They are trying to walk an extremely fine line of not calling the women liars but not admitting to their claims. Can't afford meltdowns.

I think Avenatti has been baiting Trump for a long time, and Trump was stupid enough to step in it today.

Speaking as a retired lawyer & a sexual assault victim, I agree w/you completely. Avenatti has his flaws, but he’s quite skilled at luring his opponents into committing unforced errors. I enjoy watching his maneuvers, especially when I can see which way he’s pulling the string

Agree. This is Avenatti's wheelhouse. He excelled in doing oppo research for Democratic campaigns thru the 90s, including 1992 "Year of the Woman" ignited by Thomas/Hill confirmation hearings. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.buzzfeednews.com/amphtml/stevenperlberg/michael-avenatti-campaigns-oppo-research-rahm-emanuel …pic.twitter.com/a05O78lS4X

Of course it was intentional. She went to “Stormy Daniel’s lawyer” who out smarted and showboated Trump. She’s an accomplished 50+ year old adult. The reaction was easy to predict. Avenatti laying low now makes it even more the perfect play.

The way people are misreading the comment betrays an underlying ingrained sexism from which even women suffer.
