You're focusing on her attorney in this tweet, Marcy. And - although I know you do not mean it this way - it comes across as victim-blaming.

No. I mean it to suggest that if it was intentional it was unbelievably smart.
-
Ah. Gotcha. You are a bit like me, I think, in that we have complex thought processes within our minds that sometimes do not come across in the words we verbalize or write.
-
(Which, to clarify, lol - because I think I just did it again - is a compliment. I often assume things that are obvious to me are self-evident to others as well. So I sometimes blurt out portions of thought without the context that's in my mind.)
-
Yeah, I see that now, and I appreciate you noting that it might be taken that way. I definitely did not mean it that way.

As a woman I have to disagree. In the 80s I was deposed once in a Real Estate case that I brought forward (and won). The corp attorney that deposed me immediately attacked my credibility in a sexual way. My atty (a judge pro tem) was as aggressive AS HE WAS REQUIRED TO BE
-
as my counsel. Later, in what was to be a settlement hearing my attorney had to force their attorney out of the room for physically threatening me. I think focusing on Avanatti’s style must be done in the context of the climate around this case. He might be a shark but

In these waters, better a shark than a seal. He is the right person for the job.

probably true but an alternative view is that she hired the one guy who has consistently demonstrated an ability to beat them at their own game, norm worshiping be damned.

They were always going to dismiss the accusations regardless of who represents the accusers. You might as well have someone who knows how to play the media.

Honestly if I was going to come forward against someone in the GOP right now he is who I would hire.. they would tear another lawyer to shreds at least avenatti has successfully taken trump on

I think many, including Swetnick and certainly Avenatti, realize that the battlefield here is in the media and public perception. Certainly in the Daniels case he proved to be brutally effective. I think maximizing GOP on-record misogyny is a key point of leverage.

As you've pointed out all sides should be focused in Swetnick, but the GOP will make it about Avenatti hoping to bait his ego. Like a quarterback trying to bait a defense to jump offsides on a 3rd and 1. Hopefully Avenatti doesn't take the bait.
-
Apologies in advance for the football analogy, but it seemed the most accurate to what I think the GOP will do.

So you’re saying she made a strategically smart choice?

She also ensured that her lawyer would not be scared off or bought out. Who cares what Republican men do at this point - being nice to them has not ever worked.
