I'm curious how many of the 65 women who signed the letter everyone is touting went to Holton Arms, as distinct from other Catholic schools.

Holton Arms is not a Catholic school

Yes, I was trying to make a distinction between the two (not very well, I admit). A woman who went to one of the Catholic schools is telling me it was a different social scene, which makes sense.

Yes. It is a very distinct scene. The top independent schools in DC-Bethesda-Chevy Chase area don’t mix with top Catholic schools very much.

Catholic school boys (some of them) might be apt to treat girls from non-Catholic schools differently than those from Catholic, for a long list of reasons.

Different crowd, different habits, different people doing different things at times. The incriminating stories my NY high schoolers could tell abt me (sheesh!) are different than the ones fr guy I dated fr competing high school and I have virtually none from my CA high school.

OK, just: The world of single-sex high schools isn't the same as the world of co-ed high schools. One might say: Co-ed high schools are tribes; single-sex high schools are fraternities & sororities.

Sure. But the sororities at the Catholic schools -- especially their ties to brother schools -- are different from the sororities at other ones.

I don’t know if the #Kavanaugh story is true. But I would like the GOP’ers to know that these actions happen in real life. Here is a time when a Catholic student killed herself after the incident. https://www.ncronline.org/news/accountability/reported-sexual-assault-notre-dame-campus-leaves-more-questions-answers … pic.twitter.com/tJGopH793O

Husband and I both grew up in DC and went to catholic single sex HS here, and wondered the same thing. But we question who would be able to come up with 65 people of the opposite sex who knew you in HS? We both had pretty wide circles and we couldn’t do it. Maybe 20 max.

A woman who's been emailing me said you could get it from 2-3 popular kids facebook groups. But she was assuming Catholic sister schools, not Holton Arms.

I think the definition of “I knew Brett Kavanaugh in high school” is pretty broad here.

Sexual assault and rape aren't usually a one and done crime. I assume there are other victims of Kavanaugh out there that haven't come forward yet. This was attempted rape that was only stopped by her being able to escape.

I'm unimpressed. There is no way you know someone well from watching them play sports and attending the same church service. Ted Bundy was a wonderful young man to many as well.

I’m wondering r all of the ‘65’ actually of high school age. One alleged signatory is #BritHumesDaughter who’s too young to have been HS age at that time. How did this letter of character reference get pulled together w/i 18 hrs❓ #InquiringMindsWantToKnow
