I would prefer you write a post describing how there is clear evidence that Pence knew about everything going on and participated in the cover-up. The other part seems pretty obvious to me.

I'm not aware of any evidence he did.
-
Me neither sadly. But that is what I really want to be able to read from you.

I think I am saddened that in the end Manafort flipped because he really couldn’t trust that Trump would pardon him. Trump demands loyalty from everyone and in return he uses them. No one trusts Trump. Waiting to hear that immunity has been granted to Melania!
-
I suspect there was more to it than that. https://www.emptywheel.net/2018/09/14/the-objection-that-made-muellers-case/ …
-
Yeah, slumping base support and the fact that pardons are becoming a redline for a significant portion of his base killed his chances of a pardon
-
Agreed. That is what the Manafort juror said. Finally a red line for Trump supporters. Just didn’t figure it would be a pardon for Manafort.
-
A significant # are peeling off. But well see

You shouldn’t have to, but yes, people are obsessed with this conspiracy theory. In order to win, Trump needed an evangelical willing to run. Pence was an evangelical who had no other options. A marriage made in hell.
-
Gotta weigh in. Pence was head of transition team (Flynn, Papa, Manafort, Clovis etc) who had clandestine meetings w Russians throughout transition. For VP to be clean, you must argue that his team was infiltrated at every level & he had no idea. Not a good look for future POTUS.
-
And if we're hedging by only saying that we're talking about dead-to-rights provable crimes against Pence then, considering this Rico-style roundup, it's hard to see how VP gets out. Current reasonable doubt is definitely not in VP's favor.
-
My prediction: VP is on the hook for something, possibly minor relative to others, and may cut a deal to resign in exchange for no charges. Mueller doesn't seem tolerant of even minor crimes. Cummings letter, sent via multiple modes of comm means VP lost plausible deniability.

Found it!

The Koch brothers are completely libertarian, not religious, and back liberal issues like legalization of pot, prison, criminal and sentencing reform.
-
-
Yup. Pence sits at the perfect confluence of the Koch’s and evangelicals, two crucial elements of GOP politics and a flank that Trump did not have shored up until Manafort brought pence on board. Now they represent his base. Smart pick. Especially since pence is so dumb
-
I've been pondering the Pence thing since it came up yesterday in Marcy's TL, and this explanation seems most plausible to me. All in one tweet too; well done! {Being a not-too-bright guy who is likely easily controllable seems particularly important imo.}
-
Yes and you also have to remember that his political career was completely over after his disastrous time as governor of Indiana. It was the perfect pick. He is also an incredibly effective fundraiser for the Kochs.
