What is the definition of an "overt act"?

Indictments is the big one. Big raids qualify as well.

Presumably James Comey's public announcement that the FBI had reopened the Hillary Clinton investigation, in late October 2016, went against this 60 day rule. Or am I confused about Comey's status at that time?
-
Correct. And that's one of the things he gets dinged for in the IG Report.

Thanks. I wish I had the skills to do what you do. It's like I'm a college kid again watching All the President's Men.

Usually Mueller has a Grand Jury Friday - since there is only one more Friday in August and since it is the Friday before Labor Day - any chance of something happening this week?
-
Doubt it, bc Credico is due next week. But as I said, never pretend you can anticipate what Mueller is doing.

W/ all the moving parts, what odds do you give that Mueller just keeps on keepin on for those 60 days and does his next overt acts after the election? Seems to me that's what a straight arrow like him would do if he thinks the investigation isn't complete but respects the policy.
-
He's a straight arrow, but he's also a strategist. If he's close with Stone (and he's been relentless about Stone for 6 months), releasing it now rather than in 2 months serves some important strategic goals.

Don't see how acts impacting Russian nationals, or even US nationals not directly affiliated with an ongoing campaign, could even remotely be considered an overt act

Good work. Credico putting the finishing ‘witness tampering’ touches on a kitchen sink indictment for Roger Stone sounds right to me. The Miller stuff really does seem corrupt PAC related, so probably won’t be charged on the 7th. Would be nice if it were....scare some folks!

Is there in fact a DOJ policy on this topic? I've not heard anyone from DOJ (or more importantly, from before Sessions' term at DOJ) describe this in useful detail....

Shouldn't Mueller just offer immunity?

ERRATA 1: .....much less one in Roger Stone’s immediate orbit, agrees to an FBI interview without a lawyer present)? (Question mark before the parentheses)

Hate this rule and demand a vote of confidence.
