Important point: people are rushing to collapse the SDNY Cohen investigation (which was referred by Rosenstein as not pertinent to Mueller) and Mueller investigation. Different kinds of danger for Trump from each, UNLESS and UNTIL they merge again.https://twitter.com/rgoodlaw/status/1033022255146651649 …

If a witness is granted immunity as part of one of the Federal investigations (SDNY or Mueller), does that immunity open them up to questioning in both, or are they not sharing access to witnesses?
-
It depends what kind of immunity it is, which is a point that defense attorneys like
@Popehat are trying to make amid a din of people writing pieces about how the Trump investigation(s) has become one blob. -

What about this? Reliable?https://twitter.com/GottaLaff/status/1033107109737521153 …

I'm seeing conflicting reports.

Same. Guess we wait for confirmation then.

Prediction: For some pieces of the various investigations around Trump, we will have indictments before we have full details of the immunity deals that may or may not have been struck to get those indictments.
-
That's how it's been playing out so far, so... yeah.

Timeline would be telling. Depending on the meaning of "weeks ago," Weisselberg's cooperation could have been a factor in getting authorization for the Cohen raid. If after the raid, then it's more likely they already had plenty on Cohen, and Weisselberg was helpful elsewhere.
-
Or maybe we don't have that evidence and we should wait until we do?
-
Of course. It's all speculation at this point. Even the reporting seems deliberately vague.

This is like unifying quantum theory and general relativity. Whoever figures out how to merge these investigations will unlock the secrets of the universe

I keep thinking that they could've gotten Cohen with just the taxi and tax charges but they added the hush money and gave immunity to two people for that specifically. Not that it's not important but it seems like they went above and beyond for those charges. Maybe not for him.

Breaking campaign finance law with hush payments and lying to the American people is enough for me. I want him removed from office.
