Just catching up on Lanny Davis interviews and wanted to observe that in at least two cases we know of—Steele and Papadopoulos—the Mueller probe wholly cut off contact with sources they were *already talking to* because those sources went to the press.

I’m gonna get a comment out of Peter Carr confirming my theories with my next email I’m sure of it
-
What ARE your theories?
-
Lanny Davis as the PR flack is dangling meat for the Russian troll army. They’ve revved up the conspiracy smear machine and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was planned to ferret out more connections to stateside actors.
-
That is stupid, but, hey, thanks!
-
I guess you haven’t been paying attention to the ramp up in Lanny Davis attacks from the bots but thanks for your reasoned reply.
-
Yeah, I pay attention just fine, but thanks!
-
Sure thing. But Thanks!

Don't they have enough documentary evidence from the Cohen raid, corroborated by Pecker and Weisselberg, that they didn't need Cohen himself to "flip"

At least w Cohen plea, maybe there's elements of what
@Popehat wrote in NYT yesterday? Ie, slow roll public disclosure, rattle cages, provoke stupid/incriminating moves, while avoiding provoking so extreme a reaction such as Trump firing Mueller? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/22/opinion/michael-cohen-donald-trump-robert-mueller.html …pic.twitter.com/wTD1F37zLa
