The thing is if they get a new trial he could be convicted on all counts that he wasn't convicted of in the first trialor is that double jeopardy?

Depends on what the defense does. They've also extended out such time as the second trial will be started.

After Trump watches the juror tonight on Fox @ 11 on his TIVO tomorrow morning he will probably pardon Manafort.
-
Ugh. You might be right. But he'll prolly fuck it up to make himself more exposed.
-
And Trump's cult doesn't give a damn about Manafort, they are content to see him hang.

He certainly put his finger on the scale of justice. Re the delay in DC requested by Manafort attorneys -- just heard Lawrence O'Donnell ask a good question--could the delay be because they will make a plea deal. That sounds possible, but so does waiting for a pardon from Trump.
-
I thought it might be at first, but it doesn't make sense.

Seems time to learn about pardons fed v state & double jeopardy in states like NY. If Trump pardons Manafort, does it pardon him for convictions & future possible charges? He pardoned convicted Arpaio--but Arpaio couldn't testify again him like Manafort.https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-manafort/trump-says-hes-considering-pardon-for-manafort-fox-news-reporter-idUSKCN1L806F?ref=hvper.com&utm_source=hvper.com&utm_medium=website …

The biggest thing for me was that on a trial this huge the jury was not sequestered. That and all the officious nitpicking of the prosecution in front of the jury by Ellis. It's almost like the judge himself tampered with the jury.

As a federal trial lawyer who couldn’t possibly be more sympathetic to the prosecution I have seen nothing - nor read any transcript - that would support that the judge mismanaged this case. Getting bitched out when you’re winning is the norm and helps you keep a verdict.

Ha, read that as TS Eliot at first. "Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse"

Odds that the juror going on Fox tonight is the same as the one who snitched to Ellis?

I still appreciate the fact that the jury was able to hand down 8 guilty counts despite his drama queen antics - I didn't even expect THAT much.

Do you think this makes sense
@JbkJbk1234 ? -
Not really. Juries are routinely instructed that the defense need not put on a defense and routinely consider it anyway.

So tired of these childish, needy men. Drama queens should not be judges.
