No one outside the jury room knows one way or another how deliberations are going. But for now, assume good faith and diligence on the part of the jury, bc that's what usually happens. And bc this is not a simple case.

How interlinked are the charges? For example, if the jury decides not guilty on 9, what happens with the other 9?
-
This is generalizing, but think of it as three groups: Tax cheat (not reporting income), foreign & domestic FBAR (not reporting foreign income) Bank fraud While the FBAR relates to the tax cheat ones, they add some technicalities.
-
Correct. Tax fraud is counts 1-5 (1 per yr, 2010-2014). FBAR is counts 11-14 (1 per yr, 2011-2014). Bank fraud is counts 24-32, involving 5 different loans. Bank fraud counts are least interrelated b/c each loan is diff set of facts. Missing counts are Gates'.
-
4 of the 5 acts of bank fraud involves a count for conspiring and a count for executing. 1 involves a count only for conspiring.

Long ago, I was a jury foreman on a Federal fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy trial with five defendants & five charges per defendant. Each defendant & charge received careful consideration. It took us several days. I think the lawyers were going crazy.
-
Thanks....by the way, what was the verdict in your case?
-
Split verdict. I think there were about 19 guilty and 6 not-guilty. Every defendant was found guilty of at least two crimes.

There’s also a good chance there’s one diehard trumpkin on a panel of 12 people
-
Not IMO. If 11 jurors were butting heads with a hardcore Trumper after 3 days of deliberations....encountering "not guilty" at every turn, the judge would be getting notes and/or tons of questions. Since the first day's questions, we have heard nothing. Bad sign for manafort

Matching documents to each of the indictments as they deliberate, perhaps? That would take time
-
Exactly recall they asked for copy of indictment bc they weren’t shown the exhibits during trial

How much of a meltdown should i be having right now?
-
None. This case is rock solid. It’s plausible that a few (2-4) of the 18 total charges get dropped on technical grounds but that’s it. He’s in a bad spot.
-
Okay thank you. Ill keep it together one more day!
-
Reading bt the lines: despite Trumps rhetoric that the US judicial system is filled with political hacks, seeing how studious the Manafort jurors are being should give Americans faith that the legal system is still robust and held to high standards. Even scum deserve due process.
-
I reckon it's one Trump supporter fighting with everyone else, all day long.
