Brennan's retired. It probably won't really affect him. But using a ploy like this as a distraction from bad press is a national security risk.

Taking away clearances from people just because they disagree with the administration or maybe even just for belonging to the opposition party is also dangerous for national security. I hope Brennan sues.

@Maddow he was giving it serous consideration. One thing to consider, when Comey was fired, he lost his security clearance due to protocol. Having long ago held a security clearance, I was astonished to learn that people who were no longer on active duty were allowed to keep them. I had to turn mine in the day I left.

Of course, I was a contractor then, not an officer or enlisted person. But even so, it struck me as odd that Brennan et. al. still had them.
