Aretha Franklin's passing is a devastating loss but at least CNN stopped talking about Trump's "shiny objects" tweets. And I think Americans needed to be reminded of the greatness in the world.

She said Trump is deteriorating mentally, can’t comprehend complex issues and isn’t involved in policy decisions. Why aren’t we talking about that?
-
emptywheel is leading on explaining the MSM's horrendous coverage of Trump. Many more examples than I've listed. https://www.emptywheel.net/2018/08/02/how-abc-broke-a-story-about-mueller-limiting-questions-on-obstruction-and-claimed-it-showed-a-focus-on-obstruction/ … https://www.emptywheel.net/2018/05/01/just-obstruction-is-the-new-red-line/ …

Cool. Not sure why you sent these but thanks I guess
-
You're welcome. Sent it, because emptywheel had been "talking about" it for a long time.
-
She’s been talking for a long time about something omarosa just said? I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing.
-
What Omarosa said is not new. Evidence of Trump's cognitive decline predates Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury" (January), which emphasized it.https://twitter.com/jgriffaz_/status/1030118483315515393 …
-
I didn’t say it was new. We’re just not talking about that. We should be.

I don't think many would consider Omarosa a good witness. Tape is one thing, integrity is another.
-
Agree. But as Mueller's prosecutors explained to the Manafort jury, we didn't pick Rick Gates, Manafort did. Prosecutors rarely "find angels swimming in the sewer." Apologies if not helpful.
-
Also I'm thinking he's got a witness and evidence rich prosecution at hand so why mess with an easily discredited witness like her.
-
Perhaps. Omarosa may not be credible to the wider, doesn't mean she didn't record credible truth. Besides, that's not how the Law works.
-
Wider audience*
-
Which specifically is not how law works.
-
IANAL, but will side with Henry. Was the point of my, "Prosecutors rarely "find angels swimming in the sewer." If you're "evidence rich prosecution" includes tapes, prosecution needs someone to authenticate them and explain the meaning.
-
Don't think prosecution will depend upon her or her tapes. By evidence rich I meant ALL the OTHER evidence available at this point.

I liked it better when we got our news for half an hour in the evening. The only "celebrity" was the news broadcaster, be it Cronkite, Huntley, Brinkley, Walters, Chancellor, etc. This 24-7 news cycle creates Omarosas. And Trumps.

if she actually has been keeping tapes how long do you think until mueller starts subpeonaing her
-
She says she's talked to Mueller's team.https://www.politico.com/story/2018/08/14/omarosa-robert-mueller-interview-777338 …

He can certainly testify to all that occurred while he was still the Director. Example: how he was persuaded by HGCQ, Belgium, then Steele, etc. and the nature of the evidence gathered at that time. T's clearance statement tries to discredit him for that eventual testimony.
