I know we're all busy with #Defcon and #BlackHat but I have a question: Was it ever determined #shadowbrokers was a group, and if it was, that it was Russian-based? @josephfcox @Bing_Chris @SwitHak @MalwareJake @msuichehttps://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/in-this-age-of-malware-were-flirting-with-national-disaster/2018/08/08/33169844-9b1d-11e8-b60b-1c897f17e185_story.html?utm_term=.46b0f6db8a51 …

Yes. But until I see evidence, I don't know if I buy that he's behind TSB.

I think its very unlikely that the government would let someone plead out on a much lesser charge when they posted the kinds of thing
#shadowbrokers did. The fact that there is a secret component to a case involving classified information doesn't prove anything. -
That's a good point. Plus, *who* said he was a source for
#shadowbrokers? You'd think the government would want to point out that fact (if it were true) so they'd stop looking like fools for not catching the culprit. -
I don't know who said it, I haven't seen any legitimate sources that have drawn that conclusion. With the tiny amount of information available, it's just as easy to say it was Snowden or Martin or Winner. The fact is, we don't have enough information, it's all speculation.
