An "orderly, efficient confirmation" process, just like the one Merrick Garland got.https://twitter.com/jadler1969/status/1028665738851246080 …

Of course, some of these people were in a similar role when Jay Bybee got a lifetime appointment. (And note, I had the same complaints about David Barron's lifetime appointment.)

That's ducking the question. Given the pervasive bad faith in judicial confirmation fights these days, why address the concerns of those who can't be convinced? A better, less-partisan process would allow good faith examination of all real issues.

Agree! As would one less hampered by secrecy claims. I think Kavanaugh should get a confirmation process (so should have Estrada!). But that process should not be one that hides his most controversial actions.
-
We agree when expressed at that level of generality. I'm just skeptical there's anything particularly controversial about his work as WH Secretary, and he has extensive paper trail of other highly probative materials.
-
As someone who wrote about his role in torture and illegal wiretapping years ago, I highly disagree.
-
DId you write something specific about Kavanaugh's role that I should read?

I'd have to check my defunct old website for the stuff.
