Where could Def Con realistically move in five years? Pre-2017 LV level of security theater and abuse by hotel venue. Able to handle 25k people, reasonably convenient, $100-500/day total spend per attendee (factoring in sponsored events, etc)

Putting CBP/ICE in between US attendees and conference access seems like a bad idea, especially if ppl want to bring unusual equipment/software.
-
The argument is we already do that for international attendees, including forced expatriates.

So we should do it to everyone? If “fairness” is the goal, ok, but it doesn’t seem likely to create a better conference. If ppl were mad at casino/hotel security privacy intrusions, just wait until they try TSA + CBP.
