I would be surprised to see this continued, frankly. They're probably reserving Gates' sentencing for a date past his testimony in a non-Manafort case, and the other two seem like their sentencings are aligned to meet DOJ policy on significant actions w/ political consequences.

But of course I believe the election shit is bs.

Which election shit?

Precisely. The prohibition is on taking overt actions in investigations of: 1) Election related crimes pertaining TO THAT election 2) Candidates who are ON THE BALLOT Neither applies here. At all. Unless Rohrabacher is getting indicted.
-
The problem being that there's no clear guidance. The prohibition arises out of 4 USC 7323 and its associated sections in the USAM, but DOJ folk-beliefs vary -- a guy I know who now works for Interior but used to be a DOJ was surprised to learn that it wasn't in the USAM.

There's nothing in DOJ guidelines that says Mueller should end Trump investigation 60 days b/f midterms. That there's not an exact precedent like this doesn't mean there's ambiguity abt Mueller's mandate to continue the investigation. MSM should stop peddling Rudy's bullshit.
-
There is no ambiguity about whether he may continue the investigation. There is ambiguity about whether he intends to follow the folk-guideline at DOJ, especially considering that several procedural steps -- Flynn's plea, Pap's plea -- appear to be scheduled to comply.
