Didn't Strzok say the goal of this was impeachment? Makes you think.
You mean in the conversation he said there was no there there (in part bc some of the most damning info came in w/o touching him)?
" investigation leading to impeachment?" that one.
Because "sources close to Trump" repeat what Trump claims, instead of what the truth is. And NYT likes to just pretend they know his mindset as a result.
Marcy, why do you think the NYT's coverage of this whole thing has been so gallingly awful for the past year? Do you buy the "access journalism" explanation? Would love to know your opinion.
What's there to buy or not to buy re NYT's access journalism? The vast majority of their Mueller pieces have been largely based on Trump & co, including their lawyers & Trump whisperers.

Also it's obvious Guiliani is the source of this story for Haberman

Because Rudy Giuliani says so and no matter what he's the president's TV lawyer and when you're the paper of record you must record all the records.https://twitter.com/emptywheel/status/1024846094650564608?s=19 …
Trump does seem like the sort of guy who thinks he could sit down with them and talk and sort things out, just like he thinks he solved NK...
