Say! Did you notice that the GRU indictment came from Mueller? That investigation started when DNC told FBI they got hacked (before BOTH Steele's first report AND Oz' report on Papadopoulos to FBI). That got moved under Mueller later.

Early reports != dossier.
-
Hi. Please don't litter my timeline with idiocy about the dossier.
-
I'm not littering your timeline with anything, just pointing out that Steele's early reports are not "the dossier", even if they were later included in it. Your nitpick is weird.
-
The dossier is a series of reports. They were briefed as reports to FBI. My nitpick is correct, and yours is factually not.
-
Papadopolous bragging happened a month before Steele's first report, as you know. That FBI heard about it after Steele's first report is a rather arbitrary way to debunk "began before". But I'll leave your timeline and your ego alone.
-
Hi. Do you know how the FBI works? THey open investigations formally. Which means they can be traced to a date in time and predicating evidence. The DATE that the investigation was opened post-dated the DATE the dossier started. Sciutto's was an inaccurate tweet.
-
[Passive aggressive feigned politeness] The investigation started based on a tip about an event that happened before Steele's first report. That was the point being made - there are two chains of causality and the Papadopoulos one existed before the Steele one.
-
Huh. And yet that's not what the tweet said, so by your own description it is factually false, which was my point. Thanks for proving yourself wrong! Next time try to do it w/o my wasting my time.

I don’t get this tweet
-
Sciutto claims to be fact-checking Sanders but his tweet is actually factually wrong.
-
Incomplete but not wrong no?
-
No. 100% factually wrong.
-
THe correct way to discuss it is when the people at FBI who opened the investigation RECEIVED certain information.
-
Got it. Thanks.

Is that distinction important?
-
Not really. I think it's more important to point out that it didn't really begin with Papadopoulos, it began when we started getting intel from our allies about the Trump campaign's contacts with Russians. But Sciutto's point is essentially correct.https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/apr/13/british-spies-first-to-spot-trump-team-links-russia?CMP=twt_gu …
-
The distinction is important bc if you're going to fact check someone you had better actually get facts correct or you'll make it easier to scream FAKE NEWS.

Proving, again, that the WH podium is where lies are told and manipulations are acted out to the America people. They won't stop doing it because they're convinced the more they say something the more true it becomes.
